Good.
Interesting book. However, it was much smaller than anticipated. Somewhat disappointing. Will see if the 12 year old Olympic enthusiast who is getting this gift responds.
I very much enjoyed the book. It had many good lists to read through. I would recommend for any serious Olympics fan.
I was looking for some books on the Olympics to beef up our elementary school library's offerings as the Winter Olympics approached. The is not appropriate for an elementary library because of several of the lists included. There was too much discussion of doping, aggression, violence. Our parents would not have approved of this book coming home from the library, so I took it to a used book store. An adult might enjoy it, but it wasn't the slant we wanted for our students.
My comments.The book was as expected and I have other issues of the same booksI look forward to the NeXT volume
the person I gave it to loves it. Just enough details to make him happy. It arrived packaged correctly so the pages were safely packed.
I was a bit disappointed with my Kindle edition of this book. It isn't the Kindle, it's the book. It's a trivia-like account of the Olympic games with lists of facts, winners, all listed for Olympic years. However, when I went to look for the 1994 games in Lillehammer, Norway, they weren't there, Lillehammer was turned down for the 1992 games and was the first ever to meet just two years after the previous Olympicsin 1994 when the new two-year schedule started, so it was a fairly important date and place. It is the northernmost and smallest town to host the games.. So I guess there are the main facts.If you like lists of things, you'll probably like this, but leaving out 1994 just puzzles me.
