The second book about 5 girls who have just started witch school starts right where the first book left off. No rest for the witches I guess! Mercy discovers she has a half brother and he comes to town to get to know her. Unfortunately, he stays at a B&B and manages to get into trouble. Trouble as he wakes up with a dead woman in his bed and he can't remember anything. The Witch Squad (Mercy, room mate Jax, friends Holly, Sweets, and Alba) investigate to clear Mercy's brother (Reign) from murder charges. Thanks also goes to Mercy's boyfriend, Houston, for going along with half baked plans in the process! Mercy deals with the ghost of the murdered girl, and eventually is able to send her on to the next level by solving the murder.Lots of action from start to finish makes this a fun and exciting read. The book is sure to be enjoyed by anyone who likes witch stories from teens to centenarians. However you really need to read these books in order! As of this writing there are 4 books in the series. Even though each book wraps up all the details, it is much more fun to know who people are, which is possible if you have read the previous book. One thing for sure, this book is fun-not scary. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I am off to start the next book in the series!
M.Z. Andrews frustrates me, because the talent for telling a great story, building interesting and rich characters and constructing a world for the stories is there. It's just marred by the extraordinary amount of grammatical errors. Please, M.Z., get a professional editor or proofreader for your books! They are worth the effort!
Good pace, keeps your interest, appropriate for young adults. I enjoyed book 2, as much as the 1st book and yes I would like to continue reading this series. The members of the Witch Squad are likable and even adorable at times. Can be read as a stand alone book, but there are some unanswered questions to keep you interested in reading further into the series. I have some theories on the mysterious brother and father, but looks like will have to wait until the next book to find out if I'm right.
I read for a while but nothing was happening. I couldn't tell who the main character was, what the story was about, or why I should care about any of these rather tedious people in a bar. I'll give it three stars because maybe it got better but I didn't wait to find out.
I am so loving getting to know the Witch Squad! They solved another mystery and I had a great romp with them. Really interesting characters, the plot was good - I didn't guess the ending. I'm looking forward to book 3!
I like cute, fun, witchy stories. I really enjoy M.Z. Andrews' writings and can't wait for her next book. There aren't many authors I read, after the free book, however, M is one of them.
Great characters with new ones added every book. Love the stories. They're imaginative but plausible. Needs better proof reading and grammatical corrections.
Very interesting story line. Fun and interesting characters. Romance. Mystery. Magic. Animals too. Never would have guessed that the killer was .... that person. Enjoy. Oh. Good to read something without typos!
