She will need them all as she gets arrested for a murder she most certainly did not commit!I loved the location, the glitz and glimmer of pre-wartime on the French Riviera, and the romance was excellent. As for the murder...in my opinion...he deserved it! Viola! This book was Tres' Manifique!

Georgiana definitely has a full plate, but despite all this, she manages to find the time to engage in barbed repartee with the notorious Wallace Simpson, who is managing to insinuate herself in royal circles.Written with wry, tongue in cheek humour, this lighthearted cozy mystery is sure to capture the heart of all those who love this genre. As with all cozy mysteries, it is not so much the mystery that holds the reader in its thrall, but, rather, the journey to its resolution. Georgiana Rannoch is a delightful character, and I am a huge fan of this series of books.
This is the 5th book in the Royal Spyness series. Georgie is upset to hear that her brother and his wife are closing up the London house so that they can go to the Riviera to help Fig’s pregnancy symptoms. As there is no money for her to go, she will have to go up to Scotland. Luckily for Georgie, the queen has a special mission for her to retrieve a stolen snuff box, so she gets the trip paid for her and her hopeless maid. Her initial accommodations with the family are rather dire, but she again finds luck through Coco Chanel and her mother, who offers her a place at her villa. As she is trying to come up with a plan to regain the snuff box, she gets roped into modeling for Chanel, a proposition that ends up with a runway mishap and another theft. She is also dealing with the surprise appearance of Darcy with another woman and child and she fears the worst. Georgie must deal with men who have less than honorable intentions, and when one ends up dead, she finds herself as a prime suspect. Georgie enlists her grandfather’s aid to help free her from suspicion and help solve the multiple mysteries going on.
I just finished Naughty in Nice which was a kick. and thought it was one of the best in the series. I love Georgie, the quirky central character...great fun. I would have given it five stars until I reached the end. I cringed and felt angry when I read that the murderer was identified as Jewish. .Even though the murder was a vengeful act, the last thing we need in these turbulent times is describing a murderer as Jewish or as a member of any oppressed or vulnerable minority..It merely unleashes hatred and bigotry and doesn't move the plot forward. .Nevertheless, .I still intend to read the rest of this enjoyable series.
