Awesome pics. This is a good Greek island style pictorial. This book will not teach you about style on the mainland, and as much of the style is in the walls and windows and ceilings, much is not going to be able to be translated easily if you are looking for literal ideas. That said, if you love that white and blue and terracotta simplistic meets rustic thing, this book is full of gorgeousness and can be found super cheap used. Used books are cuter anyway! ;)

Due to unforeseen circumstances whereby my lower living area was suddenly subjected unceremoniously to several feet of murky moisture, I found myself in need of a partial home makeover, but with a shoestring budget and a short time frame.Fortuitously, this book came through it unscathed, and I took it as an omen that Mediterranean was the way it should be.The pictures are strikingly beautiful, the colors breath-taking, and my family may not be over-excited to hear that the foyer will now be a washed purple color with an earthen colored roof, accented by a canary yellow metal staircase. The book banishes all fear of the lavish use of color, clearly illustrating how color can enhance your surroundings, making a cozy nest of warmth and harmony.The furniture and accessories are all rustic and simple, the formula being wood, iron, stone, tile and carpet.If you're the Victorian or romantic type, there's no toile de joie in lavender and pink in this book, no overstuffed chairs or furniture bearing the legs of any deceased monarch. I've checked this book out of my local library three times. We've been working with an architect to design a French country house, very simple. No amount of pictures has conveyed the message of simplicity to our architect. He kept giving us elaborate Palladian designs, and I kept saying, "French Mas". not "French Chateau" and certainly not some Monster House version of an Italian Villa. We've decided to end this expensive misunderstanding and begin again with another designer, this time showing the simple pictures in "Mediterranean Style" to convey the simple rusticity that we desire.

Love this book - the pictures are a joy - there are many color combo ideas in each photo and decorating ideas as well.The author has also provided instructions for creating features for you home, mosaics, fabrics, paint techniques - a very useful book and again I must say, a feast for the yes

Love this book. It has awesomely beautiful photographs of homes in exotic locations like Morocco, Greece (my favorite), Spain, etc.... It will inspire your decorating sense and give you great ideas to apply in your own home. As if that wasn't enough, it also includes DIY's to actually recreate some of the looks. I bought this book 20 yrs ago and lost it or gave it away and decided to buy it again.

Every since I took a vacation in the Mediterranean years ago while in college, I have loved some of the Mediterranean looks. I love that this book has pictures for inspiration AND it also shows you how to create some of the looks in your own home.This book was on my wish list for awhile and I am so happy I finally purchased it.The only reason I gave it 4 stars versus 5 stars was I thought some of the looks might be outdated or it could be just me.

I love this book. A friend of mine has it, but I wanted a copy for myself to generate ideas for a home in El Salvador.

I needed to get a good overview of what this style is and I did. Very informational. I would incorporate some of this style in my redecoration. However, just going with mediterranean is not for me. Very glad I had it to review.
